Car
Waxing
How to wax your car and why it is
important!
Waxing
your car is essential to keeping the paint protected from the
environment. Waxing prevents contaminants, pollution and
industrial fall out from embedding itself into the paint,
preventing expensive damage to the
paint.
Think of
it like this, when you go out into the sun you put on sunscreen
to protect your skin from burning it is the same way with wax.
There are many factors that determine how much you should wax
your car.
Do you
keep your car garaged or does it sit outside? A good rule of
thumb is to wax your vehicle at least twice a year. If you
would like you can clay in between waxing and this will help to
keep your vehicles paint contaminant free for longer periods
requiring less waxing.
You probably are
thinking that there are waxes that allow you to wax your car
once a year. The majority of these products are not waxes but
polymers or sealants. They normally have chemical cleaners in
them that provide a brilliant shine and last longer than normal
waxes. If your vehicle is kept garaged and is properly
maintained, washed etc...The sealant may last a year but you
will still have contaminants that need to be cleaned from the
paint surface. When you see the paint on your car start to dull
the first thing you think is that it needs to be waxed when
actually it needs to be polished.
There are proper steps
to wax your car; I will go through them so you can get a better
understanding on how to protect your cars
finish.

that you wax your vehicle in the shade. Some
products you apply the wax directly to the
applicator, refer to the instructions. Buff the
wax using circular motion. Wax one panel at a

Allow
the wax to harden. Remove the wax with a soft
